* Why need grow room climate controller?

The temperature, humidity, grow lights and airflow ventilation in the grow room all affect the climate. Temperature affects humidity and the metabolism of cannabis. Humidity controls the transpiration rate of cannabis, and the plant, in turn, expels vapor from the stomata, increasing humidity. Grow lights release heat, increasing the temperature of the room. Air circulation affects the temperature and moisture in the room, and wind makes cannabis thrive. They are interconnected and affect each other in an orderly whole. * What is the refrigeration cycle?
A refrigeration cycle includes four main parts, compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator, which are connected with copper tubes. The refrigerant will be injected inside after vacuuming. The refrigerant flows through the compressor, which raises the pressure of the refrigerant. Next, the refrigerant flows through the condenser, where it condenses from vapor form to liquid form, giving off heat in the process. After the condenser, the refrigerant goes through the expansion valve, where it experiences a pressure drop. Finally, the refrigerant goes to the evaporator. The refrigerant draws heat from the evaporator which causes the refrigerant to vaporize. The evaporator draws heat from the region that is to be cooled. The vaporized refrigerant goes back to the compressor to restart the cycle. With the help of refrigeration, we can transfer the heat from one media(air or water) to another media(air or water), which helps to realize the indoor room climate control, including heating, cooling, and dehumidifying, etc. functions.
* What is dew point?
Dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled so it can no longer hold all the water in the air in a vapor state, which means condensation will form. Dew point temperature correlates to the amount of water in the air.
* What is relative humidity?
Humidity is the concentration of water vapor present in the air. Water vapor, the gaseous state of water, is generally invisible to the human eye. Humidity depends on the temperature and pressure of the system of interest. The same amount of water vapor results in higher humidity in cool air than warm air. Two primary measurements of humidity are widely employed absolute and relative. Absolute humidity describes the water content of the air and is expressed in either gram per cubic meter or grams per kilogram, which is the mass of water vapor divided by the mass of dry air in a volume of air at a given temperature. Relative humidity, expressed as a percentage, indicates a present state of absolute humidity relative to a maximum humidity given the same temperature. It is the amount of water in the air compared to how much water the air can hold before it condenses and turns into droplets. Once 100% RH is achieved, the air is fully saturated, which often means rain.
* What is a refrigerative dehumidifier?
A refrigerative dehumidifier operates by drawing air over the evaporator coil, which transfers heat energy from the air to the refrigerant inside the evaporator. As the heat energy is removed from the air, the moisture in the air condenses and the water drains into the condensate pan and down the drain. And the cool dry air passes through the reheat coil condenser and reabsorbs the heat energy from the hot gas refrigerant. Then the warm dry air is discharged into the indoor spaces. Heat energy can also be transferred to outdoor condensers to provide space cooling.
* What refrigerants are used in your product?

* Can I just use ventilation to handle the humidity problem?
When the dew point outside is lower than the dew point inside the space being dried, ventilating will dehumidify. However, when the dew point outside is higher than the dew point inside, ventilation will raise the humidity. So ventilation is only the auxiliary solution to control the indoor climate.
* Can I only use air conditioner for the dehumidifying?
While an air conditioner does dehumidify to an extent, it doesn’t do that efficiently. It can easily run into an over-cooling situation, and cooler air cannot hold as much water as warmer air. And the relative humidity maybe rises instead of decrease from cooling a space. So the air conditioner needs to reheat the cooled air even without a heat load for the dehumidifying. So please note that the air conditioner is designed for temperature adjustment only, and its dehumidifying function is only the by-product of cooling, which can not handle the humidity adjust independently. And the specially designed dehumidifier and some special hvac systems integrating dehumidifying functions are the right solutions to control the indoor room humidity levels.
* Can ventilation handle the humidity problem independently?
A lot of friends believe ventilation can solve the high humidity problem, but that is not true. When the dew point outside is lower than the dew point inside the space being dried, ventilation does help to decrease the humidity. However, when the dew point outside is higher than the dew point inside, ventilation will raise the humidity. So it relies on the outdoor climate condition, which can not supply a reliable dehumidifying solution for commercial applications, which is only the auxiliary solution to work with other refrigeration products.
* What is the difference between the refrigeration dehumidifier and desiccant dehumidifier?
In our opinion, to achieve the target say 40% RH at 67F, desiccant would cost more and the maintenance costs would be more than the compressor wall technology type. The compressor type dehumidifier will have a longer lifespan than desiccant dehumidifier, as the wheel of desiccant must be changed after a period of time since the efficiency will get lower and lower as time goes by. While the advantage of Desiccant is the efficiency may not be affected by the supply air temperature, but the efficiency of compressor type would be affected if the supply air temperature is very low, such as below 40F. But for the greenhouse, normally you will not have such low room temperature, so in our opinion, compressor type is more efficient and economical.
* Why the growers need to know the VPD?
VPD means the vapor pressure deficit, which is an agricultural concept that measures the difference in pressure between the humidity inside and outside of a leaf. Growers can control well the vapor pressure deficit to increase water and nutrient intake in order to increase and optimize plant growth. Besides encouraging plant health, understanding VPD also help to better regulate the surrounding plant environment to keep pests at bay. With the help of this metric can, growers can have yield healthier, more robust plants.
* How to save hvac machines energy costs?
The key point is to control the infiltration and heat load outdoor. Infiltration measures the volume of outdoor air that seeps into the room or hvac system. It is a very economic solution to minimize cost by improving the sealing of the room and ductwork, which can avoid the refrigeration systems using more energy for moisture removal and sensible cooling.
